Fulbright 2010 Shortlisted Result is OUT NOW!!!

26 Aug

Finally, the long-awaiting Fulbright 2010 announcement of Shortlisted Candidates is OUT today!!!

This year, they don’t reveal how many candidates passed app form/document screening stage and are qualified as shortlisted candidates.

Based on my guess, I believe there are around 25-30 people in this year’s shortlisted pool. Cos from the below email I got this afternoon, I am in the Sat, Sep 12 interview pool with other 4 people.

Anyway, wish myself all the best and hope this year, I can make it and realize my dream!!! Hope this  Sep 12 interview will be perfect birthday gift for me 😀 😀

Always susu sasa! Good luck to me and everyone! Hope this time, it’s really my time!

maybe because you published the candidate list on your blog that this time they changed their practice.

Maybe, but still this ‘maybe’ is followed by a BIG question mark (?). I don’t think my blog is that popular that even the U.S. Embassy here in Phnom Penh have seen my blog posted last year on Fulbright 2009 shortlisted candidates.
Anyway, who knows? And also thanks for your visit and comment!
    Cheers,

Fulbright information is very confidential and I don’t think it is appropriate to publish it online when the embassy does not make it public as well. I published a similar list a few years back, but that was when all finalists were finalized just a few month before their departure. Even in this post, there is a personal phone number of embassy official. And like the above commentator mentioned, they might have checked out your blog since checking candidate online might be useful. Anyway, good luck with your interview!

Thanks for your visit and comment! Noted on your concern and somehow agree with you. But this post is purely for informational purpose only and I have disclosed the other 4 candidate’s email addresses in the TO field due to privacy concern.
But for the embassy official, I feel it’s ok cos his contact is publicized in the Fulbright Cambodia Info, U.S. Embassy Phnom Penh website.
Anyway, thanks alot for your visit and your wish! Yes, I am doing my best!!! 🙂

    Hi guys,

The reason the embassy did not send the entire list to all candidates was somewhat more simple. In fact, it’s because last year (and other previous years) the candidates always arrived only a few minutes prior to their test time and it was very hard for Pu Sa to go to the entrance gate and escort them (every five minutes!!). This is the main reason, as told by Pu Sa himself.

I hope this has lightened up your curiosity a bit.

By the way, bro, how was the result?

    • Tong September 13, 2009 at 11:23 am #

Thanks, Bee for your comment and clarification on this.
Anyway, the result was out late yesterday! And unfortunately, I can’t make it! Whatever, life still goes on.
I will try with other scholarships – to Australia and other countries in Europe. I don’t believe I can’t secure myself a scholarship for my Master abroad!!!

Ok, how’s US so far? Nice Sunday, bro. Ciao,
